Barnesville girls to sing National Anthem at Farm Show; Kline to perform at opening ceremony
MAHANOY CITY – Two Barnesville girls were selected to sing the national anthem at this year’s Pennsylvania Farm Show, one of whom was the top vote-getter and will open the event.
The gals — Cadence Kline and Alexandra “Ally” Bet — earned the honor through the farm show’s “Oh, Say Can You Sing?” contest. At last check, they were the top two vote-getters in a Facebook fan vote.
Out of 40 submissions, the farm show whittled the field down to 20, and 12 will sing either to open the farm show or an event there.
Kline will sing at 8 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 4, the opening day of the ceremony.
Bet will open the Junior Livestock Sale at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 7.

The 2025 Pennsylvania Farm Show will feature the return of favorites like the 1,000-pound butter sculpture, Farm Show Food Court, and Farm Market, Sheep-to-Shawl, sheep-herding, lumberjacking, cow-milking, and hundreds of other daily events, cooking demonstrations at the PA Preferred® Culinary Connection, and one million-plus square feet of hands-on agriculture education and chances to engage with the people Powering Pennsylvania’s $132.5 billion agriculture industry.
