Author of Sheppton Mine Disaster book to speak at Shen. Library
SHENANDOAH – Author Maxim Furek will discuss his book Sheppton: The Myth, Miracle & Music this Thursday at the Shenandoah Area Free Public Library
Furek’s book investigates supernatural themes during the 1963 Sheppton mining disaster and explores the Sheppton rescue technology that saved 33 miners in a Chilean copper mine.
Furek is also the biographer of the Jordan Brothers, Frackville’s legendary rock group.
The event will take place on June 24 at 2:00pm at the library on West Washington Street.
A question and answer session will follow the presentation. The public is invited to this free educational event.
