Ashland’s community night returning in force

KAYLEE LINDENMUTH / SHENANDOAH SENTINEL - Ashland's Community Night Out on August 13, 2024.

ASHLAND – Ashland’s Community Night Out is coming up and organizers say it’s expected to be bigger and better this year, including an expected visit from Geisinger LifeFlight.

It’ll take place at Memorial Field in the borough this Tuesday, August 12 from 6pm to 8pm.

More than 30 local organizations and agencies will participate, including Ashland’s two fire companies, ambulance association, police department, fire police, and the borough itself.

The Schuylkill County Sheriff’s Office and Schuylkill County Emergency Management Agency will be on hand as well.

Local civic and youth organizations like the Ashland Elks, Black Diamond Cheerleaders, Crossfire Youth Center, and more will also be set up.

Kiddos can explore and interact with various pieces of equipment as part of a touch-a-truck display. Equipment from area fire companies, the borough, Ash Resources, towing companies, and more will be included.

Geisinger LifeFlight is expected to attend, weather and availability permitting.

There’ll also be free hot dogs, pierogies, and bottled water.
