ASHLAND – Ashland’s National Night Out has been moved to next week, while events in Shenandoah and Sheppton remain on as planned.

Ashland’s postponement comes as inclement weather is forecast for Tuesday and the remainder of the week.

It will be held Tuesday, August 13 instead.

Meanwhile, in Shenandoah, the borough’s National Night Out event remains on as planned for this Tuesday.

“We have been receiving several inquiries about our event plans for tomorrow with pending weather,” the Shenandoah Community Ambulance Association wrote in a Facebook post. “We have made the decision to continue as planned after putting several hours into the event planning. Several area agencies are committed to come out and provide information and resources to our community.”

“The weather is beyond our control but the ability to have a great event is within our control,” they added. “Our friends and neighbors at the Shenandoah Senior Citizen Center have graciously agreed to allow us to utilize their building for our exhibitors to setup and the community to visit.”

Whether the event will be held indoors or outdoors will be decided Tuesday. The event runs from 5pm to 8pm in conjunction with the borough’s emergency services.

As of Monday evening, East Union Township’s event was still on as planned for Tuesday from 5pm to 8pm at the Sheppton-Oneida firehouse.
