Ashland man cited for hitting center median on Hoffman, fleeing

ASHLAND – An Ashland man is facing several traffic citations after State Police say he struck the center median on Hoffman Boulevard and took off.

Troopers said the crash happened around 7:45pm Sunday evening at Hoffman and Spruce Streets in the borough.

Joseph Lawson, 62, of Ashland, was headed south on Hoffman in a 2011 Toyota Tacoma when he left his lane and struck the median.

Troopers said he fled the scene, though he was “located a short distance from the crash scene.”

He was interviewed and admitted responsibility for the crash.

Lawson was not injured and the truck suffered minor front-end damage.

He was cited for accidents involving damage to property, required financial responsibility, and driving on roadways laned for traffic.
