Ashland firefighters contain small garage fire; PD to investigate

ASHLAND – A garage fire Saturday evening in Ashland was quickly contained and is under investigation by borough police.

Firefighters from Ashland and Girardville were called to a garage behind a residence at 228 Hoffman Boulevard around 8:00pm, reportedly involving a wood stove.

Crews arrived and quickly extinguished the fire, and out-of-town units were released shortly thereafter.

​Firefighters remained on scene for nearly an hour investigating, and cleared around 8:47pm.

Ashland Fire Chief Phillip Groody said at the time the cause of the fire was undetermined and would be investigated by borough police.
