Aristes man hit, injured by loose, large rock along highway
WILBURTON – An Aristes man escaped death when a large rock came through the windshield of his SUV and travelled through his vehicle in Conyngham Township.
State Police at Bloomsburg said Wednesday the incident happened around 3:30pm Sept. 16 along Wilburton Road west of Legion Street.
Troopers said 41-year-old Eric Feese, of Aristes, was headed east in a 2022 Ford Escape when a large rock came through his windshield, struck him in the chest and continued through the SUV.
The rock landed near the center line of the highway.
Feese suffered “significant injuries from being hit by the large rock” and was taken to Geisinger Medical Center in Montour County for treatment.
Troopers are seeking the vehicle that lost the rock, which, if found, will be cited for failiure to secure loads in vehicles.
