Area physical therapy firm changes names two years after acquisition

KAYLEE LINDENMUTH / SHENANDOAH SENTINEL - Sosar Physical Therapy on East Centre Street is now Strive Physical Therapy, seen on June 3, 2025.
SHENANDOAH – The signs have changed and an area business has a new name about two years after it became part of a much larger firm.
Sosar Physical Therapy is officially now Strive Physical Therapy.
Sosar had a location on the east end of town, as well as practices in Frackville and Hegins, all of which are now Strive locations.
Strive acquired Sosar in May of 2023.
“For over 40 years we’ve been providing quality physical therapy services to the residents of northern Schuylkill County, and we’re thrilled to partner with Strive Physical Therapy & Sports Rehabilitation to continue providing these elite services,” Mike Rainis, PT, DPT, Clinic Director of Sosar Physical Therapy, said at the time of the acquisition.
“Since opening our doors, our vision has been to provide the highest level of service to our patients, referring physicians and the communities we serve throughout all of our clinics and across the state of Pennsylvania,” said Erich Herkloz, CEO and Owner of Strive at the time of the acquisition. “We are delighted that this acquisition will allow us to continue this vision and reach more residents than before.”
For the past two years, the Sosar practices retained their name. This month, the name officially changed.
Strive has locations across eastern Pennsylvania and New Jersey and is described as “Strive Physical Therapy in Philadelphia, Trenton & Surrounding Cities” on their website.
