Altamont Fire Co. hosting hourly raffles today to support PA Breast Cancer Coalition
ALTAMONT – A West Mahanoy Township Fire Company is doing its part to help fight cancer today.
Since the COVID-19 pandemic has curtailed the ability of fire companies to host their usual fundraisers, the Altamont Fire Co., like many others, has turned to online raffles to raise funds.
Though, today’s raffles, to be posted every hour between 11am and 8pm, will support the Pennsylvania Breast Cancer Coalition.
The raffles, the fire company says on Facebook, will be identified by a special commemorative badge designed by a junior firefighter, Dylan Phillips.
For each ticket sold, $1 of the proceeds will go to the coalition, and each winner will receive, in addition to the item they placed a bid for, a stainless steel mug with the “Beat Cancer” emblem and a car magnet from the PA Breast Cancer Coalition.
