About 4 1/2 acres burn in rural Brandonville brush fire

BRANDONVILLE – Sheppton-Oneida and DCNR firefighters tackled a brush fire in rural East Union Township Wednesday afternoon.
Firefighters were called to the 200 block of Green Mountain Road around 2:30pm for a reported fire.
Smoke could be seen from the Shenandoah mountain.

About 4.5 acres burned in the fire, Jake Novitsky, DCNR fire forester, said.
No homes were threatened in the fire, and Novitsky expressed thanks for the assistance of Sheppton-Oneida firefighters.
“They did a great job,” he said.
No injuries were reported.
