Abby Conroy named Sept. Shen. Valley student of the month

SHENANDOAH – Shenandoah Valley named their student of the month for September, and if you frequent Chill Out, you’ll surely recognize her.

Abby Conroy, daughter of Bill and Pam Conroy, was announced as September’s Rotary Student of the Month.

She is a three year member of the student council, where she serves as secretary, a six year member of the drama club, where she serves as president and choreographer, a four year member of volleyball and basketball, both where she serves as captain, two year chair of Mini-THON, three year football water girl, four year Gifted Program, two year Torch staffer, one year morning announcements, two years float committee, and one year National Honor Society.

In addition to these, she is also a Widener Apogee Scholar Recipient, was named Prom Princess, and was a member of the Spring Queen and Homecoming courts. She has also participated in Schuylkill Stand Up, class fundraisers, formal committee, and is the 2018 Hugh O’Brien Youth Leadership ambassador.

Outside of school, she has volunteered at Downtown Shenandoah, Inc. Christmas plays, local hospitals, the Healthy Kids Fun Run, Little League concession stand, Kohl’s community events, Kielbasi Fest, and Heritage Day. In school, she has assisted the Veterans Day assembly, Elementary School book fair and field day, a blood drive, junior high track meets, meet the teacher night, 7th Grade orientation, Kindergarten prom, and more.

Her personal interests include her two jobs, Chill Out and Kohl’s, her athletic and volunteer activities, knitting blankets, dancing, babysitting neighbors, and making cake pops.

Abby plans to attend college, majoring in biology.
