Pickup burns in Frackville

FRACKVILLE – A pickup truck was severely damaged by fire Saturday night on Nice Street here.

Firefighters were called to the area of Nice and John Streets around 10:00pm for a reported vehicle fire.

Frackville Police were first on scene, finding a Dodge Ram pickup truck aflame, and potentially a second vehicle, endangering a nearby home at 239 North Nice. As police approached the scene, they found only one vehicle was burning.

Fire crews from Frackville and Englewood were on scene within minutes and made quick work of the truck fire.

No one was hurt, and the owner of the vehicle had just parked moments prior to the blaze.

Firefighters, using a Thermal Imaging Camera, checked 239 Nice for any hidden fire sparked by the heat of the truck fire.

Crews were clear of the scene by 10:30pm.
