Minivan crashes on Heights Hill; no one found at scene

KAYLEE LINDENMUTH / SHENANDOAH SENTINEL - A crashed Honda minivan sits alongside Route 924 after Steve's Towing pulled it from the embankment.

SHENANDOAH HEIGHTS – The driver and potentially other occupants of a minivan apparently fled the scene of a crash on the Heights Hill early Sunday morning.

West Mahanoy Township Police were called to the scene after midnight for the reported crash.

Officers were advised by state police that a vehicle was over the embankment along Route 924.

Township police arrived to find a Honda minivan leaning over the embankment on the Shenandoah side of the highway, though no one was in or around the vehicle.

The incident remains under investigation, officers at the scene told the Sentinel.

Also responding to the scene were Shenandoah Police and Shenandoah Ambulance.

Steve’s Towing removed the vehicle.
