Borough firefighters respond to oven fire
SHENANDOAH – Quick thinking by homeowners kept damage minimal when fire broke out in an oven Sunday evening.
Shenandoah firefighters were called to 229 East Mount Vernon Street around 7:00pm for the reported oven fire.
As firefighters were responding, the homeowners extinguished the fire with baking soda.
Shenandoah’s Rescue Hook and Ladder, Columbia, and Polish American fire companies proceeded into the scene, verified the fire was out, and were clear of the scene in short order.
