No injuries, none displaced after Ashland fire

KAYLEE LINDENMUTH / SHENANDOAH SENTINEL - Firefighters at the scene of a reported fire at 1010 West Centre Street in Ashland.

ASHLAND – A small accidental fire brought firefighters from Ashland and Girardville to a home in the 1000 block of Centre Street Friday night.

Fire crews were called around 8:30pm to 1010 West Centre Street in the borough for a reported house fire.

Crews found a small fire in a rear bedroom of the home, which was quickly knocked down with a water can.

Ashland Fire Chief Phillip Groody said the fire was accidental, and no one was injured.

The family that lives there will not be displaced either, he said.

Crews from Ashland’s American and Washington fire companies along with Girardville’s Rangers, Butler Township and Ashland Police, and Ashland’s Washington Ambulance responded to the scene.
