Smoke detector call on N. Gilbert unfounded
SHENANDOAH – Shenandoah firefighters were dispatched to a home in the middle of a North Gilbert Street row in the midst of a downpour for a reported smoke detector activation Sunday night.
Firefighters were called to 28 North Gilbert Street around 6:30pm by neighbors at 30 North Gilbert, who reported hearing smoke detectors sounding in the residence.
Within minutes, Shenandoah Police and fire marshals were on scene, shortly followed by the Rescue Hook and Ladder’s Telesqurt 64-20 and Columbia Engine 64-10.
Crews made entry into the home, finding no alarms sounding anywhere in the four-story row home, officials said.
The residents are reportedly out of the area.
