Troopers: Sheppton man set Oneida fire after domestic argument

ONEIDA – A Sheppton man is in county prison after state troopers say he set a fire which damaged a triplex in the village of Oneida yesterday.
It took multiple fire companies from across northern Schuylkill and southern Luzerne Counties to contain the fire, which was reported just before 6:00pm and required a second alarm for manpower.
According to the State Police at Frackville, the fire was set by Dennis Antonelli, 39, of Sheppton, when they say he “became involved in an argument with his girlfriend. At that point, he set fire to papers in a bedroom.
Troopers added that the fire damaged three homes and placed five individuals in danger.
Antonelli was arraigned on a multitude of charges, including arson, risking a catastrophe, and reckless endangerment, among others, and was committed to Schuylkill County Prison in lieu of $50,000 bail.
Firefighters from Nuremberg-Weston, Sheppton-Oneida, Harwood, Shenandoah, Mahanoy City, and more contained the blaze.
