Arrest papers: Mt. Carmel man led PSP on chase to Turkey Run
KAYLEE LINDENMUTH / SHENANDOAH SENTINEL - Brian Boblick, of Mount Carmel, is taken in handcuffs to a waiting PSP patrol car after a police pursuit concluded in Turkey Run.
TURKEY RUN – According to arrest papers, a Mount Carmel man led police on a pursuit to and through Shenandoah from Luzerne County.
Court documents say troopers attempted to stop Brian Boblick, 36, of Mount Carmel around 6:45pm when he crossed onto the shoulder on Route 924 near Maplewood Drive in Hazle Township.
Boblick fled in his 2002 Pontiac Grand Prix, exceeding 100 miles per hour at times along Route 924.
State Troopers from the Hazleton and Frackville barracks gave chase along the length of PA Route 924, and were joined by local police from Shenandoah, Mahanoy City, West Mahanoy Township, East Union Township, and Frackville.
Video captured by bystanders and a Ring doorbell camera captured the pursuit as it traversed the borough, including a trip down West Street to Rock Street on the southside.
Along the way, officers attempted to deploy spike strips and to initiate a pursuit intervention technique maneuver.
The pursuit came to a conclusion at Vito Rinaldi Chrysler in Turkey Run.
During the entire pursuit, Boblick was joined by a dog.
The Pontiac was towed back to the State Police barracks in West Hazleton, where troopers found suspected heroin/fentanyl, 11 LSD tablets, and five grams of suspected MDMA.
Boblick is facing charges of felony eluding, misdemeanors of possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, reckless endangerment, and cruelty to animals. Additionally, he has been charged with a variety of traffic violations, including driving with a suspended or revoked license.
Boblick was committed to Luzerne County Prison without bail, cited as a flight risk and a danger to society by Magisterial District Judge James Dixon.
