Girardville man found dead in Dauphin, borough man, Pottsville man charged
MILLERSBURG, Dauphin County – A Girardville man is dead and a Shenandoah man is among a pair accused of dumping his body in a Dauphin County park last night.
State Police at Lykens said Tuesday that Steven Middleton, 23, of Girardville was found dead in Seal Park in Millersburg around 7pm Monday.
William Allen, 24, of Pottsville reported finding Middleton unresponsive in the park, troopers said.
Allen and Kyle Knapp, of Shenandoah, were arrested after an investigation, accused of dumping Middleton in the park.
Troopers said the pair drove to the park, removed Middleton from their vehicle, then left the scene, fabricating a story for emergency services.
The pair are locked up in Dauphin County Prison on $100,000 for Allen and $50,000 bail for Knapp, accused of misdemeanor abuse of a corpse and fabricating evidence.
Middleton’s death remains under investigation, and a cause has yet to be determined.
