Borough man gets 14 years for heroin trafficking year
SHENANDOAH – A Shenandoah man will spend the next 14 years in a federal prison, a federal judge ruled yesterday.
The U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania announced today that Rhashean Strange, 35, of Shenandoah was sentenced to 14 years in prison for heroin trafficking.
The office says Strange, who used the street name “Chicago,” pleaded guilty to participating in the conspiracy in 2014 and 2015, admitting to conspiring to distribute between one and three kilograms of heroin, or 40,000 to 120,000 retail bags. The heroin was sourced from Hazleton and Paterson, New Jersey.
Federal officials said Strange was the leader of the conspiracy and possessed firearms related to it.
Following his 14 year prison sentence, he will serve five years on supervised release and will forfeit firearms and his share of cash seized.
The FBI, in conjunction with PSP and borough police, investigated the incident.
