Borough firefighters make quick work of electrical fire
SHENANDOAH – It took only a few minutes for Shenandoah firefighters to handle an electrical outlet fire in a home in the “Flats” section of the borough’s west end Tuesday afternoon.
Firefighters were called to a home at 637 West Coal Street around 11:30am for reports of an oven fire.
Arriving units found a small fire from the electrical outlet for the home’s stove.
Fire officials said the fire was accidental in nature, and no one was hurt. All five residents quickly evacuated.
Fire crews from all five borough fire companies, plus Mahanoy City’s West End, were clear in short order.
