GILBERTON – Firefighters from as far as Saint Clair and Ringtown are operating at this hour to pump floodwaters out of a section of Gilberton borough.
Firefighters were called for the pump detail just before 1:00am in the area of 500 Railroad Street.
Floodwaters had covered at least a three block section of Railroad Street, from near the Route 924 overpass up to at least Coal Street.
Mahanoy Plane, Mahanoy City, Girardville, Shenandoah, Saint Clair, and Ringtown firefighters operated pumps near the Gilberton overpass and at the west end of Railroad Street.
