Gold Star crash injures two
TURKEY RUN – Two people were taken to the hospital via Shenandoah Ambulance after a crash in Shenandoah’s Turkey Run section Saturday afternoon.
The crash happened just before 3:00pm at the intersection of Gold Star Highway and the entrance to Gold Star Plaza.
Shenandoah Police said a Chevy Cruze and a Saturn were stopped at the red light on Gold Star Highway facing south and north respectively.
When the light turned green, the Chevy proceeded straight to head towards Frackville and the Saturn turned left to enter the Gold Star Plaza and the two collided.
When firefighters arrived, the two vehicles were against the lightpost at the northwest corner of the intersection.
Both vehicles suffered substantial front end damaged and had to be towed.
Two people, both from the Chevy, suffered minor injuries and were taken to a local hospital via Shenandoah Community Ambulance for treatment.
Firefighters remained on scene directing traffic until around 3:30pm.
Responding were firefighters from Shenandoah’s Rescue Hook and Ladder, Columbia, and Polish American Fire Companies.
Steve’s Towing towed the vehicles from the scene.
