SHENANDOAH HEIGHTS – While traditional Easter Bunny visits via schools and malls weren’t possible this year, area children were still visited, thanks to the efforts of local fire companies.

In Shenandoah Heights, children came out to their porches, donning bunny ears and making signs, to welcome the Easter Bunny to the West Mahanoy Township village.

The bunny climbed aboard the secondary Heights engine at the fire company on Swatara Rad around 2:00pm, and, tailed by the brush truck, paraded through the village and neighboring Weston Place.

In McAdoo, the parade began two hours earlier, at noon, starting from the McAdoo Fire Company on South Kennedy Drive.
