HAZLE TWP. – The Hazleton Area School District recently celebrated Music In Our Schools Month with a showcase at the Laurel Mall.
It took place on Tuesday, March 31 at the Hazleton Area Cyber Academy in the Boscov’s wing.
More than 75 students from across the district took part, highlighting the talent and dedication of the district’s students.
Performing groups included the Heights-Terrace Elementary Chorus, directed by Rachel Brimmer, and the Hazleton Area High School Chorus, directed by Kimberly Sharonoff.
The student musicians performed a variety of selections for family members, community members, and district staff, with over one hundred attendees inside the former Payless Shoe Source store.
The showcase also coincided with Art In Our Schools Month.
To help decorate the performance space, art students from the Hazleton Area Cyber Academy painted guitars that were displayed.
