Mahanoy’s Mike Rhoades to give commencement address at PSU Schuylkill
SCHUYLKILL HAVEN – The Mahanoy City native at the helm of Penn State’s men’s basketball program will return to the county to give the commencement address at Penn State Schuylkill.
Mike Rhoades will deliver the address at the Saturday commencement ceremony on May 9 at 10am in the campus gymnasium.
It is one of two commencements planned for the weekend.
Rhoades recently wrapped up his third season at the helm of the Nittany Lions basketball program.
“Coach Rhoades exemplifies leadership, resilience and a deep commitment to student success,” said Interim Chancellor Cory Scherer. “His ability to inspire excellence on and off the court makes him an outstanding choice to address our graduates as they prepare to take the next steps in their journeys.”
Rhoades has a 417-241 career record as a collegiate head coach with seven NCAA Tournament appearances.
