Medical transport van crashes on Aristes Road; one flown

UNION TOWNSHIP – One person was flown to an area hospital after a medical transport van crashed in the Ringtown Valley Monday morning.
The crash happened around 11am in the area of 629 Aristes Road in Union Township.
Firefighters from Ringtown Valley and Aristes along with ambulances from Shenandoah, Hazleton, and the Mount Carmel area responded, finding a Select Ambulance transport van on its side in the snow.
The patient being transported and another occupant were still in the van.

Firefighters rescued the patient and helped the other occupant out of the van.
The patient was taken to the Ringtown Valley Recreation Center where an air medical helicopter was waiting.
The Rescue Hook and Ladder Co. of the Shenandoah Fire Department handled the landing zone.
The other occupants of the van were taken by ground to area hospitals.
