Hazleton band students perform in PMEA District 9 Band

HAZLETON – Seven Hazleton Area band students performed as part of the PMEA District 9 Band earlier this week.
Participating were Kelanny Olivo, senior Flute, Jazlyn Searfoss, junior Clarinet, Sophie Bolitsky, junior Trumpet, Gisselle Pena, sophomore Flute, Scarlett Agramonte, senior Percussion, Camden Calarco, junior Trumpet, and Alex Harris, senior Clarinet.
The festival brought together 160 high school musicians from over 40 high schools in Luzerne, Lackawanna, Wyoming, Susquehanna, and Wayne counties.
The PMEA District 9 Band Festival was held at Mountain View High School in Susquehanna County Jan 22-23. Guest conductor was Dr. Jason Worzbyt from Indiana University of Pennsylvania.
Olivo, Searfoss, Bolitsky, Agramonte, and Harris all will participate in PMEA Region IV Band, to be held in Williamsport March 5-7.
