Hazleton band students participate in PMEA District 9 orchestra
Students will represent Sentinel area in Northeastern Region Orchestra

HAZLETON – Two Hazleton Area musicians represented the district in the PMEA District 9 Orchestra Festival earlier this month.
Sophie Bolitsky, a junior on trumpet, and Scarlett Agramonte, a senior on percussion, were two of 140 high school musicians from across northeastern Pennsylvania taking part in the festival.
Consisting of students from Luzerne, Lackawanna, Wyoming, Wayne, and Susquehanna counties, the festival was held at Lackawanna Trail High School in Factoryville Jan. 8 – 10.
The two students will also take part in the Northeastern Region Orchestra and are the only two students from the Sentinel coverage area to qualify.
That will be held at Wilson West Middle School in Berks County Feb. 19-22.
