Mahanoy man swipes $350 from arrested friend’s coat pocket; report
CATAWISSA – A Mahanoy City man is facing a theft charge, accused of swiping $350 from his friend after he was arrested according to a Bloomsburg newspaper.
Chad Lytle, 28, of Mahanoy City, was charged Jan. 6 by Catawissa Police.
According to the Bloomsburg Press-Enterprise, Lytle and a friend from Mahanoy City were pulled over in Catawissa Township. The friend was on probation and was subsequently arrested, leaving behind his coat with $350 cash in the pocket.
Another friend who lived in Catawissa came and took Lytle back to his place and Lytle began searching through the belongings of the arrested.
Witnesses saw him remove cash from the jacket and confronted him.
A preliminary hearing is set for Feb. 11 in Catawissa.
