Frackville approves hiring of full-time police officer.
FRACKVILLE – This borough has another full-time police officer.
Borough Council approved Thursday the hiring of Noah Marx as a full-time officer, pending completion of physical and psychologic testing.
Marx is at least the fourth full-time officer including Chief Paul Olson.
The Frackville Community Thanksgiving Dinner will be held next Sunday, Nov. 24 from 3pm to 6pm at the St. Joseph the Worker Parish Hall as well, which is an opportunity to meet the borough’s police officers and council members.
In other business, council approved the purchase of a pick-up truck with a plow; a resolution seeking county demolition funds for properties on West Pine and West Walnut Streets; applying for a grant for a street sweeper; and the sale of a police car.
A special meeting is scheduled for Nov. 20 at 7pm for general purposes.
Another meeting is set for Dec. 9 when plans for Heritage Park will be revealed.
