SHENANDOAH – Expect to see some paving work over the next few weeks in the borough.

Five streets are being resurfaced in town by Schuylkill Paving, of Schuylkill Haven. The road program was announced and approved at a special meeting on Sept. 11, contrary to erroneous reports.

The streets to be paved are:

  • North Bower from Lloyd to Centre;
  • South Catherine from Centre to Oak;
  • West Oak from Catherine to Gilbert;
  • West Cherry from Main to Jardin;
  • West Oak from Chestnut to West.

The projects are being paid for through funds from the COVID relief fund, liquid fuels, the community development block grant, and interest from the proceeds of the sale of the Shenandoah Municipal Authority. The majority, if not all, of the liquid fuels fund will be used.

Several members of borough council visited the worksite on North Bower recently as the project began.

Council says work is expected to wrap up by the end of the month.
