Oneida man accused of child sexual abuse
ONEIDA – An Oneida man is in Schuylkill County Prison, accused of sexually assaulting and abusing a 12-year-old girl.
Cristofer Rubio Florentino, 27, of Oneida, was arraigned Tuesday morning on numerous felony sex crime charges.
East Union Township Police Chief Chris Dimmick said the arrest stemmed from a two month investigation that uncovered several years of sexual abuse.
According to the criminal complaint filed by Dimmick, the child’s father had been made aware on August 6 that Rubio allegedly woke the girl up in the middle of the night, made her undress, and made sexual contact with the girl. That had happened numerous times before, according to the complaint. The discovery was relayed to township police.
Dimmick met with the victim and her father at a home in Hazleton. The child had sent several text messages to the father alleging the inappropriate contact and those were shown to police.
She provided a detailed account to medical personnel and the Child Advocacy Center in Harrisburg, in which she told authorities about assaults against her and her sister, which included rape.
Rubio was charged with two counts of involuntary sexual deviate intercourse, aggravated indecent assault, indecent assault, indecent exposure, endangering welfare of children, and corruption of minors.
He was arraigned before Magisterial District Judge Reiley and committed to Schuylkill County Prison, unable to post $100,000 straight cash bail.
