New welcome sign installed in Frackville

FRACKVILLE – The welcome sign at the south end of the mountain city is back.
The sign sits at Altamont Boulevard and Lehigh Avenue in an island technically within West Mahanoy Township.
It had been gone since at least mid-2023 and the subject of discussion at Frackville borough council meetings.
In May, Frackville and West Mahanoy Township came to an agreement on who would maintain the island surrounding the sign, and the new sign was installed recently.
