Lawn mowing accident claims life of Ringtown Valley man

UNION TOWNSHIP – A valley man was killed Wednesday in a lawn mowing accident, firefighters said.

Ringtown Valley Fire Chief Joseph Gilbert said his company was called to a home on Brandonville Road east of Ringtown around midday.

There, a man was trapped underneath a crashed lawn mower in a nearby creek.

He was pronounced dead at the scene by a Schuylkill County Deputy Coroner.

Family members told the Sentinel Thursday the man had a medical emergency before the crash.

His identity was not released Wednesday.
